Lindy Hop Workshop with Jo Hoffberg

Welcome to our fantastic Jazzy Spring Weekend with Jo Hoffberg!

This is the sign-up for Sunday's partnered Lindy Hop class (5 hours of teaching time). You don't need to have a fixed partner, we will rotate partners as usual during this class. We will try to keep this class evenly balanced between leads and follows. When you sign up, you might therefore be placed on a waiting list. If you sign up with a partner, you will be accepted if there is still room in the class. 

 

Level

This workshop is open to all levels, meaning everyone will be challenged differently depending on their experience!
However, dancers must be comfortable with foundations such as swingouts, circles, tuck turns, and pass-bys.

 

Roles

Note that the registration system unfortunately does not allow us to let people sign up as a switch. If you want to sign up as a switch please comment "switch" in the comment field and we will update your role to whichever has most spaces available.

Discount if you sign up for both Solo Saturday and Lindy Sunday
If you sign up for both days, you will get a discounted price of 1550 SEK for the full weekend. Note that you need to register for all three events separately for the discount to apply properly and that it will apply only after you've paid for one of the workshop days. You may not get a new email when the discount has applied so please click the link again and the price will be updated when you try to pay!


Schedule

11.00-13.30: Phrasing – Partnered Lindy Hop (2h30min)
Music is the roadmap and when we know what we're listening to, we can better embody the dance. In this class, we will focus on musicality, phrasing our ideas, creating phrase enders, and finding inspiration from each other.

 

13.30-14.30: Lunch break (60 min)

 

14.30-17.00: Replacing Rhythms – Partnered Lindy Hop (2h30min)
In this class, we’ll train our rhythm first as an individual dancer, and then we’ll see how it works within the partnership. The class will get more challenging as it progresses and participants can choose what to focus on, so they work where they are comfortable.
