Moonglow Slow Balboa
Inspired by Benny Goodman's "Moonglow", this weekend is all about slowing down. With Gio and Jennifer Lee as your guides, you will dig down into open and close positions of slow bal.
8 hours of classes designed for intermediate to advanced dancers in Balboa, Lindy Hop, and Blues.
Social dance starts on Friday with a Friday Night Blues, not included in the workshop and continues on Sunday after the classes with a mix slow bal and balboa!
Slow Balboa, or Slow Bal, is a subgenre of the Swing dance Balboa, characterized by its dancing to slow-tempo swing music (70-110 bpm) in contrast to the fast tempo of traditional Balboa (150-250 bpm). It emphasizes a close embrace and a fluid connection with the dance partner.

Cancelation policy
Full payment must be received 2 weeks after acceptance, otherwise
you risk losing your place at the camp. Cancellations before 23 October will receive a full refund minus 200 kr
processing fee.
Important: please note that cancellation requests are done to
kurser@swedishswing.se. Cancellations after 23 October will receive no refund. You may however
transfer your ticket to someone else with the same dance role
(leader or follower).

Jenn Lee
Jenn Lee (She/Her) is a respected swing dance instructor with an approachable nature and dynamic style that have made her a popular presence at dance events and workshops.
Jenn's passion for swing dancing is evident in her performances and classes. While acknowledging the deep roots of swing dancing in Black culture, she strives to create a collaborative and supportive learning environment that encourages students of all levels to develop their unique style. With a strong music background, Jenn focuses on integrating rhythmic concepts and musicality into her classes, helping dancers connect with the music and express themselves through dance.
As a professional follow without a dedicated partner, Jenn has developed a versatile dance style that adapts to various partners and teaching collaborations. Her commitment to providing equal attention to leads and follows contributes to an inclusive atmosphere that sets her apart as an instructor.
Jenn has earned numerous accolades, including 1st place titles at prestigious events such as the California Balboa Classic, Great Lakes Balboa Escape, All Balboa Weekend, Eastern Balboa Championships, Hot Rhythm Holiday, the Snowball, and Lindy Focus. Her film "One Girl and Two Boys" won the top prize at the Jazz Dance Film Festival. Jenn Lee's experience, passion, and energy provide a valuable and enriching experience for attendees at any dance event.
Gio
What do you know about Gio? Thank you for asking! Did you know that he started dancing at 10 years old, he was born in Sardinia, Italy and that he always travels with a portable iron to fix his shirts and look sharp?!
Well... these are just some fun facts but what about Gio's dancing philosophy? Lean in and I'll tell you all about it!
Gio promotes an original take to dancing and encourages others to develop their own personal style. Gio dances with a lot of rotation, always with plenty of details, and hilarious poses - it might be too much at times, but he is working on it!
To all the nerds out there, Gio's classes will give you something to chew on. Expect to go deep into details rather than trying many moves, the material will be structured and neatly presented and hopefully yeah... you will have a good time!
