Karlskrona December Swing 2019

Join us for the 11th edition of Karlskrona December Swing!

 

Karlskrona December Swing is an annual workshop and party event focused on swing dancing, normally lindy hop.

This year will be slightly different from previous years, but the friendly and creative learning environment atmosphere will be the same

This year the workshop will be focusing on solo jazz and how we can apply it also to our partner dancing.

We will have two social dances, on friday 13 december 2019 with the band The Mellowtones and on saturday 14 december 2019 with the band Underground Swing as well as a Swing-DJs.

Welcome to Karlskrona December Swing 2019 – Solo jazz edition!

 

To be able to get the content of the workshop we prefer that you have danced lindy hop or solo jazz or other related dance for one semester or more.

Note: At times, the tempo of the workshop will be challenging.

In one part of the workshop, Ida Björklund (from Karlskrona, Sweden) will teach The Big Apple, a fun and energetic choreography.

In the other part of the workshop, Mahad Gatti (from London, United Kingdom) will be teaching solo jazz and how it can be applied also to couple dancing.

=== Workshop Price ===

Normal price: 800 SEK workshop and 2 parties

Student price: 700 SEK workshop and 2 parties (remember to comment this at time of registration to get the discount and also to bring your student ID to KDS for verification)

For those that only wish to join one of the parties the price is as follows

Friday or Saturday night (Taster) and party: 100 SEK

Friday or Saturday night (Taster) and party (student): 70 SEK (bring your student ID to KDS)

 

 

=== Teachers ===

Ida Björklund (Karlskrona, Sweden) – Ida is a member of the swing dance community in Karlskrona since 2009 and is currently an instructor in Cardio Swing at Lok&Motion. Ida has been teaching at KDS before, in 2015 and 2016.

 

Mahad Gatti (London, United Kingdom) – Mahad was earlier teaching in Genova, Italy but is now located in London, where he is part of Sharon Davis performance troupe and teaches her classes when she is away.
