The "Interested in teaching balboa?" course

This workshop is for those of you who are interested in teaching balboa in WCJ. It is open to everyone who is comfortable in their balboa and takes an active part in social dancing.

We invite all of you who for example:
- have been dancing balboa for years and feel that you would like to start teaching soon, or
- see yourselves teaching in the future, but in a more distant time perspective, or
- are curious about the teachers’ group and the work we do, but are not sure if teaching is something you would like to do, and first would like to learn more about it

We will cover a broad range of topics, such as:
- Values shared in the swing community and in WCJ
- History of balboa and how it relates to the history of swing and other African American art forms
- Teaching techniques, dance moves and setting up a class
- Practical information about teaching in WCJ
- Choosing good music for a class

Important! This course exists to serve an informative and educational purpose, and new teachers will not be chosen based on this course. Taking this course does NOT guarantee that you will be asked to teach balboa in WCJ.
