Balboa Grundkurs (Sep)

Balboa is a dance born on the West Coast of the United States and is rooted in African American artistic values. It is usually described as the dancers' dance, where the focus is more on communication between dancing partners than on the show for the spectators. It is danced in both open and closed position, and usually at a slightly faster tempo.

In the basic course, we will introduce the feel of the Balboa, basic footwork and some moves that can be used on the social dance floor. The dance contains rotations, spins, and slides, therefore we recommend shoes with leather sole or similar that slide easily on wooden floors.

If, at the moment of sign up, you are aware that you won’t be able to make it to all the classes, please sign up for another basic course from our offer that you can participate in fully. This is to ensure a good and consistent learning environment for the whole group.

It is recommended to take a basic course AT LEAST TWICE (with different teachers) before moving on to the next level (Continuation course - Fortsättningskurs)
